Ransomware As A Service

Given the rapid scaling of the Ransomware market, a recent report on Impervas services and tools, claims and touted that high-quality Ransomware is offered at a fraction of the cost of traditional Ransomware as a service (RaaS) and even as an alternative to Ransomware.

Ransomware as a Service (RaaS), which borrows from the model Software As A Service (SAAS). Thanos advertises with its service as an alternative to traditional ransomware such as Malwarebytes, Kaspersky Lab, Symantec and others.

RaaS is a type of malware that is hosted by hackers anonymously. With a whole range of R-Ransomware tools, it offers even the most inexperienced cyber criminals the possibility to unleash targeted and indeed indiscriminate attacks.

Ransomware is malware that encrypts parts of a system and makes the system inoperable until a ransom, usually demanded in Bitcoin is paid to the hacker, who then allegedly provides a key to unlock the encryption. R Ransomware allows the attacker to extort payments in exchange for the decryption key, while malicious software encrypts data on computers and servers. There is no way to block this type of malware without sending the culprit the ransom payment.
